Der Westen erlebt ein Leadership-Vakuum. Weit und breit ist keine Figur zu sehen, die moralische oder politische Autorität ausstrahlt – und den Bürgern zugleich Orientierung und ein Gefühl von Sicherheit in stürmischen Zeiten vermittelt. Keiner hat noch die Kraft, unpopuläre, aber notwendige Veränderungen zu bewirken. Niemand strahlt noch über Grenzen hinaus. Bis auf eine Ausnahme: Alexis Tsipras.

There is no figure anywhere that radiates moral or political authority - and at the same time conveys to the citizens orientation and a sense of security in stormy times.
